It is officially chilly here in Boston (except for those two random days of spring-like weather we just had) and I'm spending days at work daydreaming about curling up at home with a knitting project. Unfortunately, I'm not a very good knitter. I am a CHAMP at your basic knitting and purling and I taught myself to cable knit last winter which made me feel Very Proud Of Myself. But if we're going to be honest here, I've had the same project on these tiny little bamboo needles for over a year (green wristies, so cute, so tedious when you're knitting on glorified bbq skewers) and I just can't seem to finish them!
It's time to move on to some more manageable needles and find a project I'm more invested in actually completing. So! I started poking around for something that was pretty basic but still came out looking like something I might actually want to have when it's finished - and I came across my new obsession: lace scarves.
They're all so pretty! And feminine and soft! I love their delicate patterns, especially anything leafy. I want to knit them in wooly pastels, blues and greens and pinks and wrap myself and my friends up in them. So tomorrow, my first day off in too long, I'll be fondling soft yarns and casting on stitches.
